Small farms are becoming more and more popular, as people begin to reject the unsavory conditions of factory farms. Backyard farms can be rewarding and surprisingly simple. Perhaps the most common animal kept in backyard gardens are chickens.
A selection of my favorite centerpiece designs. The challenge is how to create something visually interesting, with the photography and copy provided, while keeping space and press limitations in mind.
The craftsmanship of honeybees is a thing of wonder. The combined effort of the population of a small town produces shocking uniformity, and attention to detail. Taken with my Nikon, some with my macro, some with a zoom.
A small sample of photography from the fall of 2016. Taken with my Nikon DSLR, the macro lens can also be used to take amazing portraits.
One of my favorite college projects, we were to create a book to showcase 20 typefaces. We were to use only one spot color, other than black, and only letter forms. The original project was created in 2009, and updated this last year.
A flier I created for the Hooves of Thunder 4-H group for their annual flower basket sale. I created a small flier that fits on 8.5"x11" paper so it can be printed easily and inexpensively by the group and distributed by its members.
I photographed last year's flower delivery, as well as several of the members during their sale, so that group members can show the color and quality of their product.
A selection of photos taken, primarily, in Athens Greece, in May of 2017.
Taken with my Nikon, summer offers lots of light to play with, and allowed me to get some shots. I enjoy the near abstraction that the macro lens allows.
A flier for a client who was selling free range eggs. I shot her chickens as they wondered through her yard, with my Nikon. I built the flier with roomy margins to allow for printing on a regular printer, as needed, but the image bleeds to the edge so that it can also be used digitally.
